Listing content policy

Last updated July 24, 2026

When you create an account, you agree to follow this policy for every listing you post. It comes down to two things: tell the truth about the property, and describe the property instead of the tenant you hope to find.

The short version

  • Photos show the actual property, as it is now.
  • Rent, deposit, and property facts are accurate and kept up to date.
  • Listings describe the property, never the kind of tenant you’re hoping for. All listings must follow fair housing law.
  • Only list a property you own or are authorized to manage.

Describe the property, not the tenant

Federal fair housing law says housing is offered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, or national origin. For a listing, that means you write about the place: the rooms, the rent, the yard, the pet policy. You do not write about who should live there.

Lines like “no kids,” “perfect for a single professional,” or “Christian home” describe a tenant, and they violate this policy even when meant kindly. “Two bedrooms, fenced yard, cats welcome” describes a property. Stick to the second kind. If a listing crosses the line, we’ll send it back with a note before it goes live.

Honest photos and facts

Use photos you took of this property, showing its current condition. Keep the rent, deposit, availability date, and other facts current. If something changes after your listing goes live, update it or mark it leased from your dashboard.

Only list what’s yours to list

You must own the property or have the owner’s permission to manage and advertise it. Listings posted without that authority come down as soon as we learn about them.

Review, and what happens when something’s off

A real person looks at every listing before it goes live. We may approve it, send it back with a note asking for changes, or decline it. We can also take a live listing down if it turns out to break this policy. Listings expire after 60 days so the site never shows stale places; we email you a renewal link before that happens.

Questions

Unsure whether a photo or a phrase is okay? Ask before you post, through Campbell Insurance. We’d rather answer a quick question than send a listing back.
